These issues largely relate to the reply window's positioning and the need to scroll back up to type your message.
Despite the mixed feedback, Gmail Top Compose has proven to be a highly regarded tool that can significantly enhance your Gmail experience. As a
Gmail mail checker
, it seems to offer a solution that many users find valuable. If the developers can address the reported issues, this

I'm happy with this - it moves the latest email in a thread to the top - similar to many 'Gmail reverse' extensions. Does nothing to the reply 'button' which I initially thought it implied.
GMAIL sucks and this extension doesn't work but maybe once. GMAIL is WAAAAAY more trouble than it's worth.
Just like everyone else...it just plain does not work.
finally! thank you for this extension. the one i had been using stopped working and all the others keep the REPLY at the bottom which is so counter intuitive.
Does not work. I'm through with Gmail nonsense. Guess I'm stuck going to back to Outlook
very poor consistency ! reopen email of a draft and its on the bottom again conversation view opens on top but the scroll bar jumops to the bottom -- uggg. open a draft in conversational an dagain on the bottome so now you have a thread with impoirtant people and the dame thread is a mess of when who responded .... gmail is so so so unprofessional
Didn't work. Looking at the description, it specifically mentions conversation threads, so maybe it only works in conversation view, which is the first thing I turn off on installing Chrome on a new machine.
I agree with Aing Kruechalee’s comment: it would be great if, when clicking “Reply”, the editor also appeared at the top of the conversation so we wouldn’t have to scroll all the way up. Thanks
So far it works pretty well. One criticism/feedback is when you hit "Reply", it jumps to the bottom of the thread instead of staying at the top. Could you update so stay/jump back to the top where the reply box is?
Worked perfectly once and then stopped working. Everytime you reset permissions it will work
Worked once and then stopped working.
I've had this on my email since my company went to Gsuite, then all of a sudden it stopped working. I could previously remove and readd the extension and it would work. Now it does not work at all. :-( Please fix. This is a very useful extension when it works. Thanks!
This works great, and then it suddenly stops working. Like others, how do I get the extension to work continuously without having to remove it, close mail and then re-add?
I used this once after adding the extension but as soon as I refreshed Gmail, it wasn't there anymore. This just seems ridiculous to not have the option of putting one's response at the top as in MS Outlook. How do I get the extension to stick?
I had this on my email for a while now and it works great, then all of a sudden it was not on my computer and luckily someone showed me how to get it back on there but now I have to keep removing the extension and adding it back to Chrome. Not very efficient.
Does this only work in reading pane mode?
I've been using this for about 3 years and it works fine as expected
It works fine when replying to an email; however, replying to a reply (as in when you have an exchange via email) does not work. When I reply to a reply using this extension, the 2nd reply goes to the bottom of the now much longer email.
Doesn't work with or without reading pane on. Shame because it's much needed given the glaring oversight from the Google Devs.
Does not work
Doesn't work, please fix! Best,
This does not work. It semi-worked for about a week or so, although the reply box WAS at the top of the email, you still had to scroll to get to it, which is pointless. Now it doesn't even do that, as the reply is at the bottom. Would be nice if this could get fixed.
It doesn't work for me, sorry.
This works well! However, like the other comments said: Clicking reply causes the screen to jump to the bottom of the top reply and forces you to scroll back up to type your message. A slight inconvenience, but at least the reply window is at the top as well with the last email message.
Clicking reply causes the screen to jump to the bottom of the top reply and forces you to scroll back up to type your message.
Hello, this isn't working. I would love it if it worked because I'm so used to Outlook but my company is using Google tools more and more so I have to move to gmail. Can you please fix it or give better instructions on how to make it work?
